Cohuna Golf Club Easter Fourball Tournament 2009

The 2-day Tournament was an outstanding success enjoyed by all in perfect weather.

The course was in magnificent condition and an absolute credit to all those persons who devote so much time and effort to prepare it.

For Easter Saturday, we had 82 men and 34 Ladies participating and on Sunday, 72 Men and 30 Ladies.   Many people were from Melbourne and have been returning for this tournament each year. Most have made the transition from tennis to golf as they get older. Doug McIntyre, from woodlands has been coming to Cohuna for 50 years, first as a tennis player, then as a golfer.

HOLE IN ONE!

On Wednesday 8th April, Betty Thompson, our Lady President,  scored an 'Ace' on the 11th hole

A few days later, at our Easter Tournament, Gerry Carlin the Men's Captain, did likewise on the second hole!

Gerry says he "choked back a little on his 8-iron", but.....do we really believe THAT?????

Congratulations Betty, you have achieved the "Holy grail" after only a relatively short time playing golf.

Gerry, your shot will also go into the history books.

Well done to to you both.  We now have two very worthy Club officials added to our honour board.

Most of us "mere mortals" for many, many years have been trying to achieve what you have both done within the last few days!

In celebration, we understood that Betty enjoyed her 'Baileys', whereas the big moment left Gerry so overwhelmed and flustered that he managed to leave "a few things undone"!!!!
